Is Riesling having a moment?

International Riesling Day generally falls in March each year so we’re taking the time to celebrate a variety that has been at the heart of our grape growing and winemaking journey for nearly forty years.
International Riesling Day generally falls in March each year so we’re taking the time to celebrate a variety that has been at the heart of our grape growing and winemaking journey for nearly forty years.
Our Wine Club manager, David Stredwick, talks us through the evolution of Riesling as it ages.
Since 1986 Howard Park have been producing remarkably long-lived Riesling. Recently Wine Club Manager David Stredwick was lucky enough to attend a vertical tasting of sixteen Howard Park Rieslings, hosted by one of our Perth-based members. Reaching back as far as the 1998 vintage, the evening offered an enlightening insight into the evolution of one of our favourite varietals.
Ever wondered how a Riesling will evolve and taste after 15 years in the cellar? Or want to know how your cellared wines might be drinking? Well, one of our wine club members has done the hard work for you.
Howard Park’s David Stredwick explains why the combination of Oysters and Riesling is worth celebrating.
