Some milestones are simply lived – vintage after vintage – until one day you look back and realise that what you’ve built is something genuinely rare. Howard Park’s twenty-fifth consecutive year holding the Halliday Wine Companion’s highest rating of 5 Red Stars is one of those milestones. It means that for a quarter of a century, without interruption, we have produced wines of exceptional quality, maintaining at least two wines rated at 95 points or above throughout. That kind of consistency is the result of a winemaking philosophy rooted in place, patience, and an honest respect for what Margaret River and the Great Southern are capable of producing.

That foundation has also been recognised by The Real Review, whose Merit classification identifies wines with a proven pedigree across more than a decade of vintages. The Howard Park Abercrombie Cabernet Sauvignon holds 3 Merits – the highest classification awarded – placing it among just 36 Australian wines to achieve this distinction. With nine wines receiving Real Review Merits in total, Howard Park is the second most awarded winery in Australia, behind only Penfolds.

The 2025 award season has brought one of the most remarkable runs of recognition in our history. At the Royal Adelaide Wine Show, the 2023 Howard Park Leston Shiraz claimed three major trophies: the Max Schubert AM Trophy for Most Outstanding Red Wine in Show, Best Shiraz in Show, and Best Shiraz 2023 Vintage and Younger. Named for the Penfolds winemaker whose vision created Grange, taking the Max Schubert trophy in South Australia – the spiritual heartland of Shiraz – is an exceptional achievement for a Western Australian winery.

The momentum continued with the 2024 Flint Rock Pinot Noir winning Best of Region at the Australian Pinot Noir Challenge, the 2023 Scotsdale Cabernet Sauvignon claiming the same honour at the James Halliday Cabernet Challenge, and the Arbor Novae Fiano awarded Best Alternative White at the Margaret River Wine Show. In total, six wines across sparkling, white, and red categories collected nine trophies at major national shows this year alone.

Woven through all of this is the story of Jeté, Howard Park’s méthode traditionnelle sparkling collection, which has always held patience at its core. In 2025 that patience was rewarded across the full range. The 2019 Grand Vintage Jeté claimed Best Sparkling Wine at the Wine Show of Western Australia, while the Jeté Rosé NV took Best Sparkling Rosé at the Australian Sparkling Wine Show in Tasmania, backed by gold medals in Canberra and Melbourne. The Jeté Premier Brut NV earned gold in Perth, adding to a remarkable legacy that includes the Best Australian Sparkling trophy at the 2017 Champagne and Sparkling Wine World Championships in London. The Petit Jeté NV completed the sweep with gold at the 2025 Australian Sparkling Wine Show in Tasmania. Together, the four wines in the Jeté range represent a sparkling program of genuine ambition – one that continues to find its audience on both the national and international stage.

Four decades after the very first Howard Park Cabernet Sauvignon and Riesling set the direction for everything that followed, that founding vision remains intact. And, if the most recent awards season is any indication, the best is yet to come.
