We are thrilled to be able to share with you the newest addition to the Arbor Novae range, the limited-release Margaret River Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon.
Available both individually and in a bespoke three-pack, these three consecutive vintages of Arbor Novae Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon offer the rare opportunity to taste the precise transmission of site from vine to bottle, as well as experience the subtle nuances that come with the variable conditions of each growing season.
Arbor Novae Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon is a bunch selection from Block 29 of the Leston Vineyard, located in the Wilyabrup district of the Margaret River region. This area is renowned for soil profiles considered ideal for Cabernet, and benefits from its balanced climatic location in the middle of the region, yet still close to the Indian Ocean. Block 29 is a dry-grown block of Cabernet planted with a Massale Selection of Houghton clone vines procured from the Abercrombie vineyard in Mount Barker.
From the 2016, 2017 and 2018, vintages sections of the block were isolated and handharvested separately. All the isolated bunches were from the more sheltered eastern side of each vine row. Identical winemaking techniques were employed for each vintage so that the bottled wines reflect the prevailing conditions of each growing season. Each bottle is individually numbered and the harvest and bottling dates are noted on the bottle.
These wines are extremely limited with only 177 bottles produced in 2016, 118 bottles in 2017, and 165 bottles in 2018. As with all our wines in the Arbor Novae range, for every bottle sold, we donate $1.50 to Carbon Positive Australia. So far, we have raised enough funds to sequester 160 tonnes of carbon through local tree-planting initiatives.

Carbon Positive Australia
For each bottle of Arbor Novae wine sold we donate $1.50 directly to Carbon Positive Australia, an environmental charity that has been working to mitigate the impacts of climate change through action, education and collaboration since 2001. Our donations help resource tree planting projects in WA and NSW that sequester carbon, increase biodiversity and restore degraded landscapes.
So far, we have raised enough funds to sequester 160 tonnes of carbon through local tree-planting initiatives. This partnership is one of the many initiatives Howard Park have committed to in our effort to ensure sustainable practices that extend our legacy beyond the fences of our vineyard.
