2009 Howard Park Sauvignon Blanc Reviews

...a blend of Margaret River, Mount Barker and Pemberton fruit. ...delicate aromas of grapefruit, straw and lemon curd plus a touch of toastiness. Medium bodied, crisp and with great nervy intensity in the mouth. It finishes long with some chalkiness.

Howard Park is one of WA's leading family owned wineries, developing a full range of wines under the Howard Park and MadFish brands. It is increasingly adopting biodynamic practices either totally or in part. This is absolutely superb drinking now. The use of some partial oak fermentation has contributed to a creamy soft textural palate albeit with very lively passionfruit intensity. Fine delicate acid sustains a brilliant finish to a wine that you just keep going back to for more.

'Best of the Best' Pale straw-green; an intriguing wine from start to finish, with delicate fruit ranging from citrus to tropical, and a feathery touch ofbarrel ferment that might so easily have obscured, rather than enhanced, thefruit.

Fresh, lifted passionfruit aromas. Great zippy sauvignon blanc fruit flavours on the palate and lovely acid backbone with a lingering end.

One of my favourite Australian Sauvignon Blancs. A little grass and cut capsicum spice, then a mix of light tropical fruit and grapefruit. It's racy with a juicy grapefruit and slightly grassy palate that combines a flinty texture with a touch of creaminess. Yum, yum gooseberry flavoured aftertaste. TTTT. So much energy. It?s a cracker. Drink 2010-2011.
