After only a few vintages, the Scotsdale Shiraz has established itself as one of WA?s top examples of the variety. From the cool 2002 vintage in the Great Southern, the wine has spent 18 months in new and one year old oak, and has the fine tannin structure to age well. Michael Kerrigan?s exemplary winemaking is at its best in fashioning this clearly focused, balanced red with lively black pepper and dark plum flavours and superbly integrated spicy oak. With age, its vibrancy will give way to mouth-watering complexity.

This is the high point of a newish regional range for Howard Park that highlights just how impressive cool-climate shiraz from the Great Southern can be. It is delicious drinking even at a young age.

This is absolutely beautiful. Spicy savoury aromas merge with fruity smells of plum and dark chocolate. The palate is a feast of goodies with deep, lush fruit washing over the tongue. Silky and very smooth mouth feel. Wonderful texture and concentration.
