2000 Howard Park Scotsdale Shiraz Reviews

Dense blackberry/fruitcake like nose; clove and spicy oak notes. Good balance to palate. Sweet peppery blueberry flavours. Oak nicely in check. Long lingering finish. Excellent drinking now with some cellaring potential

The palate is pure heaven. In fact, if Heaven was this good, I would have made a better effort to get there.

Medium to red-purple; a fragrant, almost flowery, bouquet with spicy berry aromas, then an elegant but intense and perfectly poised palate. Here the driver is the red cherry fruit, the tannins supple, the oak exemplary.Overall Winner - "Best Shiraz"

A tremendously fresh, fruit driven style with round after round of licorice and mint and flashingly-bright red raspberry fruit rushing from the glass. .. A stunningly ripe but controlled wine and a flying feather in the cap of both its maker and its region.

This wine is in short supply but black shiraz doesn't come much better than this. It is rich with lusciously deep flavours of dark berries and black cherries. There's a load of black pepper spice and great structure.Keep it for four or five years.
