1999 Howard Park Cabernet Sauvignon Merlot Reviews

The winery?s flagship wine, aged for two years in mostly new French oak. Red ruby colour. Deep, evolving aromas of redcurrant, truffle, nut skin and roasted oak. Chewy, sweet and rich, with intense, nicely focused flavours of redcurrant and truffle. Offers lovely inner-mouth energy and finishes long, ripe and fine.

Though the winemaker has changed, this wine remains a Western Australian benchmark. Very Bordeaux-like in structure and perfume. Sits crimson/purple in the glass with aromas of violets/cassis and cedar. The palate is layered, textured and dry with the ability to age for a decade or more.
