Michael was appointed Sales Manager at Howard Park in January 2011. His earliest impression of the food and wine industry came from growing up in his family’s restaurant where a general love of the culture matured over many years, along with many industry friendships.

After graduating with a degree in Business in 1988, it was a career in accounting that initially took his interest. However, Michael eventually realised that there was a lot more to life than The Tax Act.

In 1990, the move to Margaret River was made. It was not only the food and wine culture that led him there, but also the lifestyle of the region. In the early 90s the wine and tourism industry of Margaret River was very much in its infancy and opportunities were limited.

However, it was only a matter of time before an opportunity would emerge and that time came in 1994 at Fermoy Estate, and the rest is history.
Seventeen years on, Michael has witnessed the evolution of Margaret River from a somewhat ‘economically restricted’ rural community, to an international food and wine tourism destination.

Michael works closely with the Sales & Marketing team and hosts guests to the estate from Australia and around the world; introducing them to the nuances of our wines and the region. His passion and enthusiasm for the success of sustainable premium tourism in Margaret River is evident in his network with the community.

When not inhibiting in ‘the good stuff’ he spends his time relaxing in his garden at La Foret Enchantee or partaking in his other spent passion, car racing on the track.
